UCI Barcode Receiving (WF-002)

Purpose

Use this to receive items with GS1-128 barcodes. Scanning is faster than typing.

Start: Pallet with barcode label End: Items in stock, LP created


Before You Begin

You need:

  • Scanner (required)
  • PO number
  • Dakota login
  • Label printer

Workflow Overview

Scan Barcode → Verify Data → Link to PO → Print Label

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open UCI Receiving

  1. Log in to Dakota
  2. Click Receiving
  3. Click UCI Receiving
  4. Screen PO237 opens

Step 2: Scan the Barcode

  1. Point scanner at pallet label
  2. Pull trigger
  3. Wait for beep

The system reads:

  • Item number
  • Lot number
  • Expiry date
  • Quantity

Step 3: Check the Data

  1. Look at screen
  2. Is item correct?
  3. Is lot correct?
  4. Is date correct?
  5. Is count correct?

Wrong data? Type the fix by hand.

Step 4: Link to PO

  1. Type the PO number
  2. Press Enter
  3. System checks if item is on PO

Item not on PO? Use Super PO instead.

Step 5: Confirm Entry

  1. Check all fields
  2. Press Enter
  3. System makes the LP

Step 6: Print Label

  1. Press F6
  2. Label prints
  3. Apply to pallet

Step 7: Next Pallet

  1. Scan next barcode
  2. Repeat steps 3-6

Step 8: Finish

  1. Press F3 when done
  2. Stock is updated

Bad Scan

Scanner did not read barcode.

Options:

  • Try again
  • Clean barcode
  • Type by hand

Item Not on PO

Scanned item not on this PO.

Options:

  • Check PO number
  • Use Super PO
  • Call purchasing

Wrong Data

Barcode data does not match pallet.

Options:

  • Type correct data
  • Check label
  • Set aside pallet
