License Plate Management Feature Guide

Overview

A license plate (LP) is a unique identifier assigned to each pallet or container. It tracks inventory from receiving through shipping, enabling location tracking, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and audit trails.

Key Benefits:

  • Track pallets through the warehouse
  • Enable directed putaway and picking
  • Support FIFO and FEFO rotation
  • Provide audit trail for traceability

How It Works

What is a License Plate?

An LP is a barcode label applied to a pallet. It contains:

  • Unique LP number
  • Item information
  • Quantity
  • Lot and expiration (if applicable)
  • Assigned location

LP Number Format:

  • Sequential: LP000012345
  • Date-prefixed: 26011300001
  • Warehouse-prefixed: WH01-0001234

LP Contents

A single LP can contain:

  • One item (standard pallet)
  • Multiple items (mixed pallet via Super PO)
  • Multiple lots of same item

Use Cases

Case 1: Single-Item Pallet

Scenario: Receive one item, one pallet.

Steps:

  1. Complete receiving entry
  2. Press F6 to generate LP
  3. System creates LP record
  4. Label prints with barcode
  5. Apply label to pallet

Result: One LP with one item.

Case 2: Mixed Pallet (Super PO)

Scenario: Receive pallet with 5 different items.

Steps:

  1. Open Super PO
  2. Add all 5 items
  3. Complete entry
  4. System creates one LP
  5. Label shows all items

Result: One LP with five items.

Case 3: LP Inquiry

Scenario: Find where LP is located.

Steps:

  1. Open LP Inquiry
  2. Enter or scan LP number
  3. System shows:
    • Current location
    • Item and quantity
    • Lot and expiration
    • Status

Case 4: LP Transfer

Scenario: Move LP to different location.

Steps:

  1. Scan LP at source
  2. Confirm item and quantity
  3. Scan destination location
  4. System updates LP record
  5. Inventory moved
